Caveo's Joe McCahill to Present at 2018 Learning Solutions Conference

Joe McCahill, a senior instructional designer with Caveo Learning and founder of the Social Learning Design Group, is among the presenters at the 2018 Learning Solutions Conference & Expo to be held March 27–29 in Orlando.

McCahill's session, "Learner-Generated Content and the Future of Practical Social Learning," is geared toward intermediate to advanced designers and managers and will: "explore social learning within the context of meta-moderation. Meta-moderation invites learners to rank content according to quality, reliability, and usefulness, and these rankings determine which content should be consumed by learners and adapted by IDs. This leads to a targeted, scalable body of knowledge that learners maintain themselves and feel ownership over, as well as more time for instructional designers to focus on custom training needs."

Caveo Learning Project Manager Renie McClay will present a pair of sessions for Iowa learning professionals on Friday, August 4. "Unlocking Innovation In Your Learning Organization" is hosted by the Central Iowa Chapter of the Association for Talent Development.

McClay will speak on strategies for boosting workplace creativity and how to create effective eLearning on a budget. The event in West Des Moines is open to the public, but registration is required.

Caveo CEO to Host Learning Metrics Workshop for ATDChi

Caveo Learning CEO Jeff Carpenter will team with David Vance, executive director of the Center for Talent Reporting, for a daylong workshop focused on the basics of metrics and measurement in learning & development. The event is hosted by the Association for Talent Development, Chicagoland Chapter.

The Talent Development Reporting Principles Workshop, will be held Thursday, September 21, in downtown Chicago. The workshop is open to the public, with early-bird registration through September 7.

In addition, Carpenter and Vance will be the keynote speakers at ATDChi's networking dinner the prior evening, Wednesday, September 20. That event is also open to the public.

Caveo Strategist to Share Military L&D Insights at SW Learning Summit

Ray Valenzuela, a learning strategist with Caveo Learning, will be a featured presenter at the 2017 Southwest Learning Summit. The event, hosted by the Association for Talent Development, Dallas Chapter, will be held August 24 in Plano, Texas.

Valenzuela's session is titled, "Address Performance Issues, Not Symptoms: Approaching L&D the Military Way."

Before joining Caveo, Valenzuela spent 12 years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, becoming the academics chief for the Combat Instructor School in the School of Infantry (West). He'll draw from that experience to offer insight and guidance in applying military L&D insights in the civilian sector.

Caveo Learning will host the official happy hour networking event at Learn-a-Palooza, the annual conference hosted by the Puget Sound Chapter of the Association for Talent Development.

In addition, Caveo Learning Solutions Manager Tammy Dietz is a featured presenter at the conference. Dietz's session is titled, "Creating Content That is Global-Ready," which addresses the challenges of instructional design for cross-cultural audiences.

Caveo to Host Happy Hour at 2017 ATD Conference in Atlanta

For the fourth year in a row, Caveo Learning will host a networking happy hour during the Association for Talent Development's International Conference & Exposition.

The event, co-hosted in conjunction with the Chicagoland Chapter of ATD, will be held at Game-X in downtown Atlanta on Monday, May 22. Admission is free to ATDChi members and invited guests of Caveo, and includes drinks and light appetizers. Space is limited—email for more information.

The 2017 ATD Conference, also known as ATD ICE, will be held May 21–24 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Among the conference's scheduled presenters is Caveo Learning Project Manager Renie McClay, who will co-present "Economical E-Learning: Keeping It Cool and Quality on a Budget" with Jann Iaco, an eLearning training specialist with national retailer Crate & Barrel.
