About the Presenters

Barbara Opyt, M.Ed., CPTD, Learning Solution Architect 

As an LSA for Caveo, Barb provides oversight and support for a team of instructional designers who create learning and performance solutions aligned with client business objectives and performance measures.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Barb is a thoughtful and creative collaborator, skilled at designing and developing learning programs in senior management roles. Prior to joining Caveo, Barb held senior management roles in corporations, higher education, and startup technology companies, implementing award-winning programs for technical and business audiences.

Barb was awarded an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Texas at Austin, where she specialized in adult and organizational learning, and a B.S. from Minnesota State University—Mankato. She is also ITIL Foundations certified and a certified facilitator in situational leadership through the Center for Leadership Studies.

Christine Jastrow, New Business Development Director

As New Business Development Director, Christine engages with learning and training professionals to establish new relationships and uncover opportunities to support their critical L&D initiatives.

Christine has a ten-year track record of partnering with senior-level executives across multiple industries driving measurable success. She successfully co-led a large pharmaceutical project to upskill frontline managers and sales representatives on a new GTM strategy, leading to increased sales and productivity. Christine holds a B.A. in Communication and Public Relations from Michigan State University and is working to complete her PMP certification.

Christine is passionate about elevating women in business and serves on the advisory council of the Women in Leadership program at The George Washington University School of Business. Outside of work, you can find Christine taking cooking classes and whipping up new recipes, all to please the palates of her two picky toddlers.

Eric Quarrell, Development Manager

As an industry professional with extensive experience in both instructional design and media development, Eric serves as Caveo’s thought leader to design cutting-edge learning solutions. His mobile-first approach ensures all Caveo’s solutions are designed to meet the needs of a multigenerational workforce. With more than 13 years of experience in learning, Eric specializes in instructional design, multi-media and eLearning development, project management, and project analysis. 

In addition to his media design qualifications, Eric has also led major analysis and design projects for clients such as Amazon, Chick-fil-A, Astellas Pharmaceuticals, and Audi. He is dedicated to designing innovative curricula that considers a range of delivery formats to provide for initial training as well as ongoing performance support. Throughout all engagements, Eric partners with clients and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and manages stakeholder needs and expectations to ensure a timely and successful training solution is delivered.

Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in Web Design & Development from Full Sail University.

Paul Powell, PMP, PMO Director 

In his role as PMO Director, Paul provides oversight and support for the project management team, in addition to managing client projects. Having more than 20 years’ experience in project and program management, his expertise in leading learning projects ensures engagements are completed on time and maintain the high quality our clients have come to expect. Paul has experience managing projects for a wide variety of industries such as oil and gas, higher education, pharma, and life sciences. Paul was the first Project Manager at Caveo to fully implement Caveo’s A2® Process Flow.

Paul holds multiple certifications, including PMP from the Project Management Institute, a Project Management Certificate from Kennesaw State University, and a certificate in Instructional Design and Delivery from Langevin Learning Services. He additionally obtained a Master of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelor of Fine arts from Rutgers University.
