A pair of regional talent development conferences have invited Robert Davis, a senior instructional designer with Caveo Learning, to speak on the topic of learning curation.
Davis will present "Cohesive Learning Curation: The Future of Efficient and Effective Content Development" at the ATD Houston 2017 Fall Conference and Expo on September 21. The following day, Davis returns to his home state of Louisiana to deliver the presentation at the 2017 Gulf Coast Talent Development Conference in Baton Rouge.
The presentation is based on a popular webinar Davis hosted earlier this year, titled "A Learning Leader's Guide to Cohesive Content Curation," now available for on-demand viewing. He also presented on the topic at the 2016 Utah ATD Conference.
From the session description:
The future of talent development lies in optimizing organizational resources and technology to deliver maximum employee performance at minimal cost and time. To that end, forward-thinking talent development professionals are embracing concepts of curation and reusable learning in order to reduce development time, enhance learner interest, and repurpose learning components across multiple deliverables. Doing this effectively and successfully requires making the content interesting and relevant in varying contexts, aligning the learning with specific objectives, audiences, and situations. In this session, participants will learn "creative curation" strategies for efficient and effective learning content development. We’ll examine how curation has revamped traditional instructional design concepts and how this trend complements emerging learning technology platforms.
